A tele-classroom has a large LCD screen, computers and other equipments that enable to conduct classes from educational studios set up in cities to transmit classroom sessions through Internet connectivity. Tele-classroom enables two-way communication on real time basis between the teacher and the student and thus, gives the feel of a real classroom. Students can ask questions and get answers on their LCD screens. They can also write on the LCD screen to ask a particular question or doubt. Since classes of one education studio can be transmitted to numerous tele-classrooms, one lecture can reach many students in different classrooms at one time.
An interesting concept, as even those with computer at home or have difficulty in moving to another city for enrolling in well-known colleges can join for courses of their choice and learn through tele-classroom mode. The concept is also a step further from the traditional distance learning education or the online education prevailing in the present society. In distance learning, the student has to attend the lectures by visiting contact centers and the class will benefit only the students present in the room. With tele-classroom, a single lecture can be transmitted to all the centers and thus benefiting hundreds of students enrolled for the course, across the centers, irrespective of location. In online education, the student will have to own a computer and Internet connectivity in order to have a reliable education. A tele-classroom will step ahead and encourage digital streaming with two-communication between the student and the teacher.
